ADI BRAUNAdi Braun, vocalist
Night and Day: The Cole Porter Songbook

Adi just launched her sixth CD, "Night and Day: The Cole Porter Songbook"; adding to her collection of  celebrated recordings, "Moderne Frau/Modern Woman", a tribute to the music of Weimar Cabaret, "Canadian Scenes", "Live at the Metropolitan Room", "The Rules of the Game", and "Delishious".

Backed by a stellar jazz quartet/quintet, Adi brings the songs of Cole Porter to life with lush arrangements of favourite Porter hits.

"Performing songs with orchestra from the Great American Songbook has long been a dream of mine. I have always loved the gorgeous music and brilliant lyrics of Cole Porter – as meaningful today as it was when they were written decades ago. For Night and Day: The Cole Porter Songbook, I commissioned award-winning arranger and producer Don Breithaupt to create stunning orchestral arrangements of ten of my favourite Porter songs. These arrangements bring to mind the great Rosemary Clooney/Nelson Riddle collaborations, and I’m thrilled to be continuing this legacy”

In addition to her performing, Adi is the co-host of “Classical Mornings”, a popular daily program on The New Classical FM.

"[Adi] delivers all the music the challenging harmonies and tricky intervals of which are raptly encompassed. Ms Braun always sounds as if singing is her most natural mode of expression, exhibiting a gleamingly blended tonal quality and an articulate engagement with the songs’ lyrics... a CD to die for!"
