Janna Sailor conducts the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra for SOJOURN: An electrifying program that celebrates some of the most exciting voices in contemporary music, from Reich to Montgomery. David Braid’s Joya Concerto, brings together two remarkable Canadian artists: Braid, “one of this country’s true renaissance men” (Ottawa Citizen), and violinist Mark Fewer, known for his genre-defying virtuosity. The work melds global musical influences—from jazz to Indian classical to passages reminiscent of Stravinsky.
