Kevin Mallon conducts the Aradia Ensemble with the Toronto Youth Chamber Orchestra and the Kingsway Conservatory Strings for "Baroque Idol 2" at the Music Gallery, Toronto. Young composers are invited to submit new works written for baroque ensemble, and based on audience votes, the winner is crowned then commissioned to write a new work for Aradia. This year, some of the collaborating composers are invited to bring their own bands along too - Roman Tomé, Ronley Teper and her Lipliners, Scott Maynard and the Quiet Revolution.

In the first half of this story-telling show, explore Burns' world through word and song. Hear his famous "Comin' thru the rye", "Ye Banks and Braes", "Sweet Afton", "My love is like a red, red rose" and "Auld Lang Syne", sung by outstanding singers Virginia Hatfield, soprano and baritone Benjamin Covey, with acclaimed pianist Melody McShane.
Enjoy tea and shortbread at intermisson, then revel in the delightful Broadway classic Brigadoon, following the tale of Americans Tommy and Jeff who stumble on the mythical village of Brigadoon in the misty Scottish highlands. Songs include "The Heather on the Hill", "Almost like being in Love", "Waitin' for my Dearie" and "Go Home to Bonnie Jean".
