Jason Nedecky has won acclaim for his
expressive and meticulous artistry as a soloist in
concert and recital engagements. This bilingual
baritone has appeared with the International Bach
Festival Toronto, Talisker Players, the Manitoba
Chamber Orchestra, Toronto Consort, Toronto Chamber
Choir, Aldeburgh Connection Recital Series, Brantford
Symphony, Bach Elgar Choir of Hamilton, and the Ottawa
Valley Music Festival.
On the operatic stage, he has performed roles with the
Canadian Opera Company, with Saskatoon Opera as
Escamillo in Carmen, with Toronto
Masque Theatre, in the title role of Don
Giovanni at Opera Nuova in Edmonton as well as
at the Brott Summer Music Festival in Hamilton, and in
Opera Atelier productions of Mozart's The Marriage
of Figaro and The Magic Flute. While in
the Opera Diploma program at the University of Toronto,
Jason sang the lead role of Gianni
Schicchi.
Mr. Nedecky is featured on several Baroque recording
projects with the Aradia Ensemble on the Naxos label.
He sings the role of Corrado in
Vivaldi's opera Griselda, is a soloist in
Handel's Israel in Egypt and sings the role of
the wealthy plantation owner Ducat in
Aradia Ensemble's 2010 release of Samuel Arnold's
Polly. Jason can be seen in Lully's
Persée, released on DVD by EuroArts.
In 2008, Mr. Nedecky was a soloist with Consort
Caritatis in Mozart's Requiem on the Dalmatian
Coast and in northern Italy, and was a guest artist
with Toronto’s Aldeburgh Connection's "Thé chantant" in
May 2009.
Recent oratorio performances include Bach's
Christmas Oratorio with Winnipeg’s
Canzona/Musick Baroque, Bach's B Minor Mass
with Orillia's Cellar Singers, Dvorak's Stabat
Mater with Toronto Philharmonia, and
Messiah with Grand River Chorus.
In 2010/11, Jason sings the role of The
Steward in Britten's Death in Venice
and understudies The Wigmaker
(Ariadne auf Naxos) with the Canadian Opera
Company, and is a guest artist with Calgary's
Mountainvew Connection Concert Series.
